It is a pleasure to offer positive thoughts about Carly from Ignite Immersive Education.
We were a small – one form entry primary school in the centre of Leeds serving the needs of a very disadvantaged community. Serving our curriculum through the driver of ‘The Arts’ was ambitious, challenging and fundamental to the future success of our school.
Carly from Ignite joined us as a Creative Practitioner in June 2012 and worked alongside our team for 3 days a week till 2021.
Carly is enthusiastic, patient, extremely talented and quickly established herself as an integral part of our staff team. Ignite is much more than a PPA cover! Carly spent time with each year group to find out the themes of teaching and made sure her content was suitable and linked well with the teacher planning. As a creative practitioner she ensured that sessions covered singing, drama work, rhythm, composing and accompaniment. She used the latest technology to enhance the learning. During ‘lock-down’ she produced films from home to share with the children across the key stages – these can be seen on the school’s website.
Carly is highly professional and made strong relationships with staff and children alike. Her behaviour management was excellent – mainly because the children loved her sessions and were able to access them easily. Even some of our most challenging children enjoyed success.
As a school we underwent a large expansion – moving from a one form entry to a three-form entry. Carly made that transition with us and never lost her passion for making sure that learning was achieved by everyone in the session. She researched themes, she produced Powerpoints, she encouraged children to write their own songs (ask her about the Penguin or Viking songs!) which were based on the information they had been taught.
Carly was worth every penny that we spent on her as a school – in fact she provided very good value for money. Reliable, hard-working, punctual and honest with no concerns whatsoever about her suitability to work with children.
At a time when creativity in schools is being squeezed, when the value of offering something consistent which blends so well with what your staff are already teaching is becoming nearly impossible to find and when you want your children to enjoy coming to school and have fun in their learning – you need to contract in Ignite Immersive Education.
You will not be disappointed.
I recommend Carly Wood – Creative Practitioner and Co-founder of Ignite – to you without reservation as I know her and her team will quickly establish themselves as an asset to your staff team.
